NYBeauty Suites is here for all things #smallbiz related, so when our Community Partner BKLYN Commons reached out for their 6th Annual Open Desk: Small Business Pop-Up, we jumped at the opportunity to collaborate!

In addition to having the opportunity to become vendors at the annual event, NY Beauty Suites Members were able to create personal brand awareness, connect with potential clientele and sell their physical products. The opportunity was priceless and our #beautyprenuers took full advantage.

An exciting annual feature of the Open Desk event was CAMBA’s60 Second Pitch Competition. Finalists went toe-to-toe with their best business pitches for a chance to win a cash grand prize. After 2 thrilling rounds, the top winner was NYBeauty Suites very-own aesthetician, Shantini Alleyne, owner of Shantini Alleyne Skin. You can catch her award winning pitch journey HERE.

The Open Desk was a vibe! As a jazzy three-piece band worked the front of the venue where attendees were able to “speed network” (think speed dating for your business), renowned DJ Lisa Nwoye kept the #smallbiz pop-up shop in the back vibrant! The panel discussion on “How to Hack the Real Estate Market” was super educational, the food was amazing and the resources were plentiful. Financial institutions were on hand to share the latest information on grants and micro loans, while the health and wellness community partnered with ARA Wellness Space to offer healing activities including transcendent Sound Bath that incorporates rhythmic vibrations from a live planetary gong, hand pan drum and didgeridoo creating harmonious vibrations to releasing bodily tension.

All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed connecting with our community in such a fun way and we can not wait to collaborate with BKLYN Commons next year 💜.
